In one of the regions hardest hit by desertification on the Iberian Peninsula, the rains of recent weeks have brought more than just water: they have brought visible signs of regeneration, hope, and resilience.
Our colleagues at AlVelAl, an organization with which we share values and vision, celebrate how the Steppe Plateau landscape is beginning to respond to years of silent and sustained work. The land, once dry and eroded, is beginning to turn green, crops are strengthening, and biodiversity is once again finding its space.

This phenomenon is not only a consequence of the rain, but also of an agricultural and territorial model based on living soils, responsible water management, and regenerative practices that respect and restore natural balance.
At Fundación Kareema, we follow this process of transformation with admiration. These rains are a blessing, but also a confirmation that when we work with respect for the land, the results come. If these rainfalls are accompanied by sustained initiatives like those promoted by AlVelAl—from regenerative agriculture to reforestation with local species—we can speak of a true turning point for the region.

In times of climate uncertainty, we eagerly celebrate every sign of landscape recovery. We remain committed to a regeneration that is not only environmental, but also economic, social, and cultural. Because a living territory is also a community with a future.
