This Sunday, June 1st, the Torrequebrada Golf Club hosted an unforgettable day in which sport, memory, and solidarity elegantly intertwined. Fundación Kareema had the honor of being part of the 7th Benalmádena-Torremolinos Golf Tournament – 5th Carlos Gil Memorial, an event that goes far beyond the green.
This tournament, which has already established itself as a benchmark on the Costa del Sol, paid tribute for the fifth year to Carlos Gil, a pioneer in promoting tourism and golf in our region. For Fundación Kareema, his memory is especially close and makes this event very personal.
More than 170 players took part in the sporting challenge, enjoying a day marked by a good atmosphere and a desire to help. The tournament’s proceeds go to the shelters managed by the AECC in Malaga, a project we know closely and follow closely due to its real and human impact.
One of the most celebrated moments of the day came at dusk, during the cocktail reception in the Clubhouse gardens, where a jazz quartet from the Malaga Center for Modern Arts and Music (ELCAMM) provided an artistic and elegant touch to the event. The Kareema Foundation also collaborates with ELCAMM to promote scholarships for young musicians, so it was especially moving to see how different areas of social and cultural support intertwined in a single event.
