CITAC: A New Beacon in Leading International Cancer Research Holds Its First Board Meeting

The Center for Cancer Research and Advanced Therapies (CITAC) takes an important step forward by celebrating its first board meeting at the University of Málaga. This ambitious public-private project aims to establish itself as a leader in cancer research. During this meeting, two new board members, the Provincial Council of Málaga and the Fundación Mecenas de la Casa Natal Picasso, joined alongside key institutions such as the University of Málaga, the Málaga City Council, Fundación Unicaja, Unicaja Banco, FGUMA, Fundación SANDO, Famadesa, and Fundación Kareema.

The Fundación Kareema drives financial innovation with the creation of a Fintech Chair at UMA

Fundación Kareema has sponsored the creation of the Fintech Chair at the University of Malaga (UMA) with the aim of promoting technological innovation in the financial sector. During the presentation, Nadia Gil, president of the foundation, highlighted the importance of democratizing access to educational and financial resources, while Cristian Gil emphasized the role of the chair as a bridge between academia and the business world. The project, which seeks to lead the digital transformation of the sector, has already gained international recognition and plans to carry out practical activities such as hackathons and training programs.

We are delighted to share the exciting testimony of Eva Moreno, one of the two beneficiaries of the I Beca Talento Scholarship, promoted by our Fundación Kareema and the University of Malaga in collaboration with FGUMA – General Foundation of the University of Malaga.

Eva has just started her postgraduate training at the University of Lucerne (Switzerland) and is specialising in Eco-Social Design, demonstrating her talent and creativity.

Five projects receive the 1st Essences Fund for landscape regeneration

Fundación Kareema, together with the Aland Foundation, has launched the I Esencias Fund, granting funds to five projects of the AlVelAl Association in Spain to promote sustainability and biodiversity in crops in the territory. With more than 42 km of aromatic plants planned, which has been called an aromatic marathon, this initiative seeks to create an integrated and productive agroecosystem. The beneficiaries have already begun preparations to transform the landscape, seeking to create habitats for pollinators and diversify agricultural activities. This collaboration reinforces the restoration of the AlVelAl territory and encourages its continuity until 2032.

First awarded Becas Talento Scholarships

Fundación Kareema and FGUMA have awarded the I Talent Scholarships to the students Eva Moreno and Hugo Chapon.

Both the president of Fundación Kareema and the dean of the University of Malaga have praised the talent, enthusiasm and excellence of the university’s students.
President of the Kareema Foundation expressed her pride in supporting these students, who exemplify passion and tenacity, and hopes to see their achievements as ambassadors of the scholarship program in the future.

Fundación Kareema and the University of Málaga launch the first Talent Scholarships

The Fundación Kareema in collaboration with FGUMA launch the I Talent Scholarships for students holding a degree (either a bachelor’s or master’s degree, ) issued by the University of Málaga, or people who are in their last year during the 2023-2024 academic year at the UMA. This will enable students to further pursue studies in person and full-time at universities, schools and research centers of recognised prestige anywhere in the world.
