The Fundación Kareema and the University of Málaga, through its General Foundation, launch the first edition of the Talent Scholarships, with the aim for students graduating from the UMA, to expand their studies in person and full-time in universities, schools and prestigious research centres from anywhere in the world.
In this way, two people, under 25 years of age, who are highly motivated, will be able to benefit from this aid in the 2024-25 academic year and obtain up to 45,000 euros per year to develop the master’s degree of their choice.
The rector of the University of Málaga, José Ángel Narváez; The director of Fguma, Diego J. Vera, and the president of the Fundación Kareema, Nadia Katy Gil, were in charge of presenting the first edition of these scholarships.
The rector has defined this collaboration as “exciting” and has thanked Kareema for the trust placed in a public university:
“Working with a Foundation, with its values, is a unique opportunity and also a responsibility,” he stated, while mentioning the work of Fguma, “which strengthens this University and works at the service of the training and education of the youth”.
“The UMA and its Foundation have always believed in public-private collaboration and in the path of patronage,” Vera stressed, clarifying that in the coming years the number of scholarship recipients will increase “because the philosophy of this aid is to support and encourage the talent of Malaga students.”
For her part, Gil explained that the objective for which the Fundación Kareema was created was to leave a positive and lasting impact on society:
“We are committed to this city and we would like to transform the lives of the students who get this scholarship, so that they can dream big and take their University and Malaga with pride beyond our borders,” she indicated.
Those people who are in possession of a higher degree (university degree, bachelor’s degree or master’s degree) issued by the University of Málaga, or people who are in their last year during the 2023 academic year, may apply for the Talent Scholarships until September 29. -2024 at the UMA.
The amount of the scholarship may be applied totally or partially to the tuition at the center to which the student has been admitted; maintenance; plane tickets to the destination airport or other expenses such as accident insurance or books.
Fundación Kareema offers access to educational and financial resources to help individuals and nonprofit entities grow and improve their environment. This scholarship program is the result of joint work between the aforementioned Foundation and FGUMA, for which an agreement was signed on March 10.
