Aland Foundation
For its part, the Aland Foundation wants to turn the Iberian Peninsula into the flagship territory of regeneration in Europe. And it wants to do it through the creation of a network of existing initiatives that are currently working on the eco-socio-environmental restoration of degraded territories in Spain and Portugal. The objective is to connect these initiatives to share, learn, exchange and seek joint financing, using the 4Returns, 3 zones, 20 years model as a common language. To inspire other initiatives, the 8-year experience of the AlVelAl Association in the Steppe Plateau is used, using this model to create a regenerative movement on 1 million hectares.
The ultimate goal of this entity is to promote systemic change in the peninsula through regeneration, and to do so it is necessary to influence public policies. Having real experience and a pilot project made up of local agents will be the key to connecting with regional and national governments.
